Latin Quarter of Paris is a main destination for people who are interested in bistros and the nightlife. However, do not think that the clubs you will find here are filled with Latino music and dances. The area located in the 5th and 6th arrondissement of the French Capital is actually named after the Latin language, which was the main language taught and spoken in universities and schools during the Middle Ages. Aside from bistros, this area is also filled with famous universities and schools in the whole of France. In fact, University of Paris and Sorbonne University are situated here.

Lying on the left bank of Seine River, the Latin Quarter is one of the liveliest parts of Paris. If you want to hang out with young people and enjoy a bustling nightlife, you should find a hotel or accommodation in this area during your stay in Paris. By the way, aside from Sorbonne and University of Paris, this area is also home to Ecole des Mines de Paris, Ecole Normal Superieure, Schola Cantorum, and Universite de Pierre y Marie Curie among others schools.

The best way to enjoy the Latin Quarter of Paris is to take a walk around its streets. Here you will find interesting restaurants and cafes that serve native delicacies of France. The youthful and upbeat atmosphere is also apparent in the area because of the many pubs and discos filled with students from the schools and universities around the area. A must visit place in the area is the open air market, which is often considered as a historical landmark in the City of Lights. Many tourists in Paris that are on a budget prefer to stay in this area not only because of the many affordable accommodations that pepper this part of France, but also because of good shopping areas.

Do not think that the only things that you will see in the Latin Quarter of Paris are clubs and bistros. It is important to note that people who enjoy great architecture should also include this place in their itinerary while they are in France. The buildings and structures of the famous universities, many of which are built during the Middle Ages, are truly interesting and spectacular. Aside from being amazed with Sorbonne University, which is one of the most famous schools in France, you should also take time to visit Le College de France and Place Saint-Michel.
