If you’re planning a family vacation to France and are stopping through
Paris, take the opportunity to do something fun for the kids and take them to some of the famous Paris zoos & aquariums. There are a number of locations that offer a variety of wildlife to see, and seeing huge tigers and beautiful jellyfish is impressive no matter what age you are. These zoos and aquariums are some of the largest in the world, and have animals that cannot be seen almost anywhere else. In this article, we’ll take a look at three of the most popular zoos and aquariums currently open. The aquariums in Paris carry a reputation for beauty and professionalism,
but the Sea Life Val d’Europe might top them all. Located only a few minutes from the Disneyland resort outside of Paris, it is the largest aquarium in the Ile-de-France region, and is sure to entice people of all ages. The aquarium provides lots of information on its residents in the form of videos, plaques, information booklets, and audio tours as you view the fantastic creatures from many different climates and locations. There are roughly fifty open tanks through which to browse, and lots of kids’ activities like touch pools and educational games. TheParc Zoologique de Thoiry near Paris is the most famous safari-themed
park of the Paris zoos, and is renowned across Europe as a great attraction for families and wildlife enthusiasts. Roughly 130 species and 1000 animals litter the park, and the park stretches across over 150 hectares, making it an experience that can be enjoyed again and again. While the park must be viewed from inside a car or safari vehicle, for safety reasons (there are big cats and other potentially dangerous animals), the lions reside in a glass tunnel through which you are allowed to travel on foot. The Espace Rambouillet is a wildlife reserve that gives the zoos in Paris a
well-rounded finish, as it includes a variety of rare birds of prey like falcons and eagles, as well as other species of animals local to the area. The area is strikingly beautiful, and makes for a great picnic day trip to see a great variety of wildlife. There are even exotic animals such as wild boar to be seen, and the entire reserve is accessible on foot paths that twist throughout. |
